A Recommended Combo Tour to Experience Shiretoko's Two Faces: Day and Night
During the day, head to the Shiretoko GOKO Lakes Guided Walk, a signature tour in Shiretoko, a World Natural Heritage Site. You walk around the beautiful lakes that reflect the Shiretoko Mountain Range and through the primeval forest, and enjoy the spectacular scenery unique to Shiretoko and traces of wildlife.
At night, head to the Night Safari Shiretoko. While traveling along the nighttime roads of Shiretoko in a guide vehicle, you search for wildlife such as Ezo deer and red foxes. With little city light in Shiretoko, a sky full of stars may spread above you, allowing you to experience a completely different side of nature from the daytime.
Spectacular Views by Day, Starry Skies and Wildlife at Night.
At Shiretoko Five Lakes, you enjoy the scenery that symbolizes Shiretoko, a World Natural Heritage Site, while on the Night Safari, you enjoy wildlife that are active at night and the starry sky. Even in the same Shiretoko, nature shows a completely different side during the day and at night, making this one of the appeals of this combo tour.
This popular combo tour is recommended for those who want to fully enjoy the nature of Shiretoko from daytime through the night.
Please note: Wildlife sightings and opportunities to see the starry sky depend on natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed.
