Concentration is key! 30 minutes from the moment you sit down at the loom!
Enjoy seeing how many centimeters you can weave within the time limit! ★
You will create a Shiozawa-ori textile using a takabata (high loom) and silk threads, the same type used for actual Shiozawa textiles.
Each loom has a different color for the warp threads, so you can choose your favorite.
You can choose two colors for the weft threads from a wide selection.
It's a comfortable experience that will make you forget the time, and you'll create a one-of-a-kind original piece! ✨
Small children (under 110cm tall) can participate with adult assistance.
*All weaving experiences include a demonstration and explanation (approximately 15 minutes) about the history of Shiozawa weaving. In addition to the experience fee, there is a 2nd-floor admission fee per person (500 yen for adults, 250 yen for elementary school students). Thank you for your understanding.
*If you use the Shiozawa weaving you made during the hand-weaving experience to make small items, you will receive a 20% discount on the small item making experience fee. You can register on-site. Please consider it! ^^
