You will create a Shiozawa-ori textile using a takabata (high loom) and silk threads, the same type used for actual Shiozawa weaving.
Each loom has a different color for the warp threads. Please choose your favorite loom!
You can choose two colors for the weft threads from a wide selection.
It's a comfortable experience that will make you forget the passage of time, and you'll create a one-of-a-kind original piece! ✨
Small children (under 110cm tall) can participate with adult supervision.
*All weaving experiences include a demonstration and explanation (approximately 15 minutes) about the history of Shiozawa weaving. In addition to the experience fee, there is a 2nd-floor admission fee per person (500 yen for adults, 250 yen for elementary school students). Thank you for your understanding.
*If you use the Shiozawa-ori you created in the hand-weaving experience to participate in the accessory-making experience, the accessory-making experience fee will be 20% off. You can apply on-site. Please consider it! ^^
